Help - should I close dispute now?

Hi all,
Need to pick your lovely brains please, as I've never had to deal with an Ebay dispute before.
Sold item on Ebay, buyer paid via paypal but was unconfirmed, so i refunded payment and emailed twice asking to confirm address. No reply so opened unpaid item dispute after 7 days. He responded saying I was a liar as he was verified! After a bit of faffing and me explaining about confirmed address he sorted it and repaid, but said it would be unlikely that anyone would be at the address to sign for it.
I sent item by recorded delivery (only worth £10) on Feb 14th and wrote on packing slip and in email asking for him to email me via ebay to confirm receipt so that I could close dispute (as I'm under impression that you can only open one dispute so couldn't open another if undelivered).
Have checked RM website daily and it says no info available. So today I rung RM and they confirmed that it was delivered on Feb 16th but was not on website as signature was put in wrong box!
Am I safe now to close dispute? I know it's only a tenner but want to be sure.
Sorry if I'm being dull!
Thanks in advance

It's an unpaid item dispute, right? He's paid... so there's no reason for the dispute anymore

If it wasn't delivered, it would be him opening the dispute... so no need to worry about using up your quota! My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Thanks!

The problem you may have is if the buyer decides to return the item (if you have a returns policy), then you cannot open another dispute.0

I'm more worried about recorded delivery failing to work again.
As you have no proof of delivery due to recorded delivery not performing (a common problem) then you are also open to an item not received claim which you will lose. However that of course assumes either buyer really did not receive item and Royal mail have given you false info on the phone,, or that buyer has received it and is prepared to lie.
However, as the buyer did pay you really do need to close the dispute.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks soolin - that was my worry, that I had no physical proof of delivery.
I've closed the dispute now so hopefully it should all be ok.
Think that the buyer would have contacted me by now if it was not received.
It's extremely annoying that recorded delivery stuff doesn't update, what is the point in paying for it if you don't get your proof?!
Thanks again

You're a brave poster starting me off on my hobby horse again..I can just sense all the regulars running for cover now.
I don't believe there is any point at all in using recorded delivery for ebay goods, the chances of it actually tracking seem to diminish by the day, I have three items here received this week alone and out of interest when I track them 2 do not show delivery. Admittedly one says a card has been left, but since I collected it Thursday I am susprised it hasn't been updated yet.
Save your 70ps, make sure you keep certificates of posting for all goods and then if an item fails to arrive just refund and reclaim from the RM.
The only exception to this is for goods over £34 or for tickets and vouchers which need to go special to be covered for loss by RM.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Yeah I was a tad worried bout starting off a rant! :rotfl:
To be honest I do usually send 1st/2nd class post (unless over £34) but as this buyer was being a bit awkward I wanted to cover myself! - He had 300 feedback 98% positive but had no idea he needed to have his Paypal account confirmed to qualify for protection! Numpty!
