help with nokia software upgrade

i have a nokia N95 with vodafone running v 11.0.26 17-04-07 rm-159 i have been on the nokia website a it says there is now version 20. something.
however when i try to install or upgrade tto the new version its says i ahev the latest software on the phone.
i have had the phone 6 months and never upgraded the software at all as yet.
any ideas...???

dws - version 20 is the latest, but your phone is branded to vodafone. The version you have is the latest that Vodafone have permitted to be used on their branded phones.

I had to change my phones produce code to update the firmware. That's effectively the same as debranding the phone. Look here for how- http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=91

You will have to read up about things on the website first. If you post on their forum they are really helpful.

Once you've changed the N95 produce code you will be able to update to version 20. (That's not the same as unlocking the phone, i.e you still won't be able to use a none Vodafone Sim card).

I'm not sure how that would effect your phone warranty. I've learnt a lot about the N95 at the above website. Hope that helps.
