How can I open DTD file?

Hi. My son has a GCSE project due in in the next two weeks. His teacher informs me a lot of his work is incomplete and has advised me that he must finish it at home to stand a chance of passing. However we cannot open the work at home. It was created in 2D Design V2 and unfortunately they do not have a free download or trial version. The program costs £245 and would only be used for the next 2 weeks so I am reluctant to buy it. There is a freedownload for the earlier version on the Techsoft UK Ltd website but unfortunately it cannot open the more advanced software.
Can anybody help me by suggesting a freeware program that will open a DTD file? I do not neeed to be able to alter any work... just read it to identify what hasn't been done so that DS has a chance to complete his work in another programme.
Thanks in advance.

cnet have a number of programs that can open and/or edit DTD file. Most have 30 day free trial. Should be enough for what you want

If above link doesn't work, go to CNet and type in DTD. All available progs will be listed0
