Non-endosable fixed pen notice

I hope some one can help. My boyfrined came to visit me at my new pad which is a permit holder area for residents, he only came over for half an our for a look round and when he came out there was a Fixed Pen Notice for 30 quid. He wouldnt have minded parking a little further away, but the whole area is rows of the same streets with permits, and he was bringing some stuff round also. Is there any way this can be contended, i feel its alittle unfair when he was actually visiting a permit holder's residence.

Do i have any chance of getting it cancelled?

Thanks in advance

In the circumstances it appears unlikely it would be cancelled as he was parked in a restricted bay. However, the local authority must also play by the rules, so you could check this site to ensure the signs and road markings meet regulations: Ticket Fighter

Could you apply for a permit he could use, assuming you don't have a car? I'm not sure if this is allowed but worth looking into if he's going to visit often :)

Many areas where there is permit parking allow the permit holder to buy visitor tickets which give a certain length of parking for visitors
  • hi, checked out the site, but it mentions nothing on non endorsable fixed pen notices. Do you know any others? I have only just moved in, there must be some leniency for the first month or so, and i am ordering him a visitor's permit so this cnat happen again.

Phone the relevant dept and ask them if it is likely to be revoked (on appeal) as you only just moved in and have not had time to sort out a parking/visitor permit for his car.

Try Wig's suggestion, if that doesn't work, you need to click on the Parking & Loading link on that site and look at the section "Parking Bays" to check the signs and road markings are as they should be according to the Traffic Signs and General Directions (TSRGD) 2002.

For more sites, look at section 6 of the Motoring Websites thread :)
