Cahoot - anyone received interest yet?

Options
I opened the 5.5% Cahoot account over a year ago but still haven't received any interest. I checked the small print and interest is supposed to be paid exactly 1 year after account opening. Anybody else not received theirs?

I got mine. It turned out anniversary was about a week later than I thought, but I got it (mid-July). See if you can double check your anniversary date, and I think it goes thru either that day or the day after.

Account opened 19th July 2004, no interest added yet. Have emailed Cahoot but no reply yet.

Are you sure that your interest hasn't been paid?

What's quite odd is that when I checked my Cahoot savings account on it's anniversary, the interest was listed as a 'recent transaction'. All I had to do to view it was click on the Personal Homepage link and then click on the account number link beneath 'savings account:'.

However, when one of my family members checked his, nothing was listed under 'recent transactions'. The interest had been paid, but to view it we had to look at the online statement. Click on the Personal Homepage link, then click on the account number link beneath 'savings account:' and then click on the statement link.

If you're interest is still not listed, then I would contact them if I were you. Find out from them exactly what date your account was opened (according to their records) and when your interest will be paid. I wouldn't worry, there's probably a simple explanation.

Account opened 21/7/04 (ie. that is the date on which my opening balance cheque was listed. The forms would have been sent in a while before that).
    Interest added 14/7/05.

In my case this was found in my most recent statement since 14/7/05 was actually a statement day. If it's been paid, you should be able to find it in one or other of the places described by Kazza.

I can't see them not paying it so either it's there but you haven't seen it (I find it a bit of a pain finding things on their onlike banking system) or it's a week or two out from when you expected it.

False alarm - I've found it, paid on the 8th July. Had so many transactions in July that the interest had been bumped onto the next statement page. It wasn't obvious from the webpage that there was another page to view. Could have done with a "page 1 of 2" at the bottom of the screen to highlight this.

I'm glad to hear that it's worked out ok for you.

You've raised some good points about Cahoot's website. Have you thought about suggesting the above to Cahoot? They are always looking for feedback from their customers on ways to improve their online service.

i have to say, although cahoot is a fab account, i agree about their website not being the clearest. however, if you e-mail them with a question via the website they are pretty quick at replying, and usually have something useful to say. worth enquiring about whether they are due to review the website anytime soon.
