Hi Folks
Have been trying to transfer an Outlook Express address book and messages.
Address book has transferred across, but has not kept the original 'filing' system, though this is still in place if you open the wab file on the transferred to PC.
How can I import the address book and keep the 'filing' system ?
I can't transfer the messages over as it says it can't open the necessary MAPI file.
I have located a file containing e-mail in 'My Documents', but it is an old one.
How can I transfer the messages, or how do I update the file ?
Many thanks

To transfer your emails:
Open Outlook Express, Click the 'Tools' menu then 'Options'. Go to the 'Maintenance' tab and then click the 'Store Folder' button.
Select and Copy (CTRL + C) the path that it shows you.
Close Outlook Express.
Click Start, then Run, now Paste (CTRL + V) the path that you copied and click OK.
You will see a whole bunch of .DBX files. These are your database files. Copy these files to whatever media you are using to transfer files.
Now on the PC where you want to transfer to:
Open Outlook Express and add your email account. Now go back into Options and select and copy the path again (it will be different on every PC). Close Outlook Express, then Start, Run, Paste the path. Then copy the files from your old Outlook Express into the folder, overwriting anything already there.
Now open Outlook Express and voila, your emails!

Address book is different.
In Outlook Express -File -Export -Address book
Choose Text File (Comma Separated Values)
Export
Choose a name for the CSV file Choose which fields you want to export. (most if not all I presume)
In Outlook Express -File -Import -Other Address book
Choose Text File (Comma Separated Values)
Import
Choose your CSV file Match up the fields you exported
(most if not all I presume)
I do it this way because if you have several identities and therefore several address books, it keeps them separate.0
