SBT your Virgin

Hi

Does anybody know, can you SBT to your current account online with your Virgin card or do you have to phone up?

Apologies if the answer is obvious somewhere I haven't looked.

Hey, happyhero - I've just been answering your post over on https://www.stoozing.com

Re the Virgin SBT, I'd recommend doing it over the phone. You can then remind them that BT's are fee-free throughout your 9 month intro period - which they are!

On that subject, I've recently had my most productive conversation yet with the MBNA customer service people when I rang them for confirmation of the BT fee situation (following a recent glut of questions on this board)...

YB - "Hello, I'm ringing for clarification of the we MAY charge a fee for balance transfers line in the Summary Box and T&C's."

MBNA (dull tone) - "It's the Virgin card isn't it?"

YB (Surprised!) - "Yes, it is actually."

MBNA (sounding bored!) - "Yes, BT's are fee-free for the entire 9 month period."

YB - "I've heard you can transfer overdrafts to a credit card. I have a small overdraft and a car-loan that I'd like to transfer. Are these current account balance transfers included as fee-free BT's as well?"

MBNA (laughing) - "Yes, they are. You wouldn't believe the number of people asking this question lately. You'd think they would modify the T&C's wouldn't you?"

    YB (innocently!) - "I don't know, I'm new to credit cards" ;)

MBNA - "Would you like to apply for the Virgin card sir?"

YB - "Not just now thank you, I'll think about it. Goodbye."

So, there you have it. You just need to talk to the same CSR that I did!

Maybe we should collect a list of the names of the MBNA staff who understand the T&C. Then when people are being told the wrong thing they can ask to talk to one of them instead.
