I put mine over bread dough while it rises. I also line cake tins with it.
We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.

    Brilliant idea - thanks!

Do you know if it would work in a Panasonic Bread Maker when lining the inside to bake cakes?

I've just bought one, and the instruction book says to use parchment paper to line the tin, this would be much cheaper and better!

I don't know but I think it might melt actually:confused: , I meant that I line storage cake tins with it, I can lift a whole cake out easier.

Wow! I'm in awe! I honestly never even though about keeping them, but there are so many good uses on here that I'm going to from now on.
  • Found this idea on MSE but can't remember who said it - I now use mine, cut up, when making burgers to freeze, in place of the circle of greaseproof paper you can buy (BUY??!) and they are completely brilliant.
  • This won't be much use to most people but we've got a coal fire and use a cereal bag for bringing sticks inside for lighting the fire. As the sticks are bits of wood we've broken up they're very splintery, but cereal bags are really strong and last for ages before having to be replaced - unlike bread bags which pierce straight away..
