How much to save?

Options
I've been wanting to save some money for my kids for when they reach 18 in case they would like to go to university or need some money for other reasons.

I was wondering if there are any predicited figures of roughly how much and 'average' 3 year degree course will cost in terms of fees & living costs? [i know i'm basically asking how long's a piece of string]. I just thought that there must be some rough industry predicitons out there. My kids will be 18 in 2020 and 2021. It'd be really helpful if i could find a rough figure, in today's monetry terms, of how much would be needed in 15 & 16 years time. Then i can work backwards and see how close to that figure i can afford to save.

Thanks.
