hi hope there is someone on here who can help me i had a website posted through fasthosts by a web design company. i then decided to make my own through microsoft office small business they have quite a simple redelegation process. i called the company who did my website before and they said to change it over thy needed a tag name.
so i looked up on WHOIS what the tag name was for the temporary domain name i had just created with microsoft office small business it was melbourne-it so i gave this to the web company.
however know its floating about in limbo because microsoft is telling me i need to change the server name in the settings which i cant get into and now neither can the previous web hosting company.
so if anyone understood even the slightest bit of what i've just said can you help me or is it lost forever?
any help greatly appreciated as it was my dads website and im in lots of trouble if i dont sort it out

Just to clarify, you have your own domain name. You created another site. You want to point your domain name to the new site.
It should just be a case of changing the DNS entry to point to the new server.
You haven't lost your domain. pm me the domain name or post it here, and we'll he able to help more. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
yes sorry if it wasnt clear i created the new site and domain name which is www.quarrytopgarden.com and the old site i am trying to re-direct to this one is www.quarrytopgarden.co.uk
so what do i need to do now?0 -
Go into your control pannel with the domain hosting you have and there will be a place to enter "www.quarrytopgarden.co.uk" so that "www.quarrytopgarden.com redirects to the .co.uk.
Or vice versa if I have read what you are trying to do wrong.
Have you registered it free with Microsoft?
If so I am not sure what you can do myself but others may.
I would have registered it with a known provider myself.

The registrant is a non-trading individual who has opted to have their
address omitted from the WHOIS service.

Strange, if I put quarrytopgarden.com in browser it works but if you put quarrytopgarden.co.uk it does not.
How long ago did you make the changes?
DNS can take a few days to propagate (no pun intended).0
