    Hi,

Thanks for this. I wasn't sure into which category to put it so put it under Earn more. I hope that is ok.

  • hi there, Im also new to this site. I started getting into debt when my bank rang me on my 18th birthday asking me if I wanted a £2000 credit card! a year later I found myself a newly single mother in £8000 debt. Im 23 now and after ignoring it for a long time, I have now managed to clear my debt, yet I still have poor credit rating, I have been on to the trial credit check and I dont understand it!?! Therefore not a clue how to amend it, my other problem is a bit more long winded! 4give me!
I am now having problems with an old phone contract. I was with orange, paying direct debit each month, I called in April to notify them of my new bank details, a month later, they took money from both accounts, resulting a bank charge to my old account. I rang orange, the man apologised and asked me to send my bank statement and they would refund me the charge. I did this several times via fax, and each time I called I got a diff story as to why the fax wasnt recieved. I sent a lttr of complaint in Dec 07 with no reply. I changed phone companies, refusing to pay my bill until it was amended (£40 is what I actually owe), now I have letters from debt collecters saying they will take me to court, when I rang them to explain, the person was obviously not trained in 'customer care' and just demanded payment or I'll get a CCJ! I dont know what to do, I dont want to pay as I am not in the wrong but I want to get a mortgage with my partner and I am scared this will hinder my chances.
sorry for the ramble, but any advice will be appriciated, thank you x

Tinkers I would recommend you post this as a new thread on the DFW main board instead of in this challenges thread, that way more people will see and me able to help.
