I can't put an exact figure on the total amount I've saved since using this website regularly, but I thought a few acknowledgments might at least go some way towards showing my gratitude to all at MSE.

Starting with the biggies - I reclaimed well over £2000 worth of Bank Charges back, with the help of this site & the Consumer Action Group.

My Car Insurance is as low as it's ever been (currently about £300 fully comp, thanks to the guide on MSE).

I've just switched my Utility Bills from British Gas to Atlantic, this should knock a couple of hundred quid a year of my bill.

My Credit Cards bills are now spilt between a 0% deal & a very low rate life-of-balance. This has saved me A FORTUNE and YEARS of repayments.

EVERY financial decision I ever make now, involves a visit to MoneySavingExpert.com

Thank you, to all involved at MSE. This site has changed my life & financial attitude enormously.

  • I've been browsing this site for months and only plucked up courage to post for the first time yesterday. I have just moved my duel-fuel bill account with E-ON over to their online extra saver account and it's going to save me 19% and about £300! Well chuffed I am as I already get Tesco points with E-ON and as I overpaid on direct debits last year, they owe me about £300 which will go towards our holiday this year!
  • I am a student but I travel from home (to save money) to a v.good local university by car as is most practical. (Perhaps not best money saving option). However just following some of the advice on the site has potentially saved me loads. I can tell you that just by driving slower cutting out journeys begging lifts and trying to predict traffic lights etc. I have reduced my petrol bill from £140 a month, to £90! I do about 250 miles a week. I no longer have a contract phone, I have o2s top up £10 and get 300msgs, (used to have contract at £35/mnth) also got that vyke for when i run out of free msgs and want to put off topping up. Got a part time job, upped my hours slightly to cover more of my expenses and putting all loans overdraft etc. in high payers, changed my isa and will use my allowance ready for when i need to pay tax. Avoid uneccessary snacks, take a packed lunch, found cheaper places and ways to print my work (printing at home =7p/page print at uni 3p double sided). Joined cashback site made £23 so far just filling in a few surveys. Got family to join sky for £17 a month instead of paying £15 just for AOL, (actually get a signla instead of crappy freeview) etc. etc. Also got a credit card, pay off balance in full very month so that my money can stay in savings earning interest longer!
