Sat Nav for Florida

  • Having a Sat Nav in Florida has got me out of a hole on many an occasion. If you're unlucky enough to have a buggy new Nokia phone, then you can "rent" a map:

Or if you go with a company such as Hertz for a hire car, you can also rent their "NeverLost" system which I thought was fantastic.

I agree about discovering new places and sat nav does have its uses. I love driving down to Cornwall and looking at the coast on satnav to see where the tiny roads meander down to the coast. They normally lead to lovely unspoilt coves.

This is exactly what i used mine for on the US west coast.

Have you thought of unlocking your Navman, then you could put other software on it which will be cheaper.

I grudged paying the $12 a day from the car hire place but got lost going from the airport to the villa. Bought one from Target supermarket the next day and it was brilliant. One less thing to stress about. Anyway it was $80 for a tomtom one 130. I have seen a few on ebay from people returning from holiday. These are more reliable than the dodgy ones from hong kong.
