Cash is not free on credit cards.
You either need a debit card or get an SBT card and do a balance transfer a 0%, there is usually a balance transfer fee though of around 3%.
If you just want to get cash from ATMs then you would probably be better off with a debit card from your current account.0 -
If you want cash, get an overdraft from your bank and withdraw that way. It'll be far, far cheaper.
If they refuse, and you have no other way of getting cash (literally, NO OTHER WAY) THEN you can withdraw cash from a card.
As someone who has recently, out of dire necessity, had to withdraw £140 from his Vanquis card (racking up interest at 45% and fees of £7.50, now all paid off thank christ) and was luckily able to pay some of it into a 10% current account to take some of the edge off, I'd like to make it perfectly clear that withdrawing cash from a credit card should always be a last resort, and can be used by certain companies as a sign of financial desperation along the lines of applying for lots of loans and credit cards (i.e. "he knows it's bad, but he did it anyway, man he must be f****d").0
