  • Dover Castle is fantastic. You have the wartime tunnels as well.
You do need to get there first thing as you have a lot to cover. Great areas for picnics. And you never know, rumer has it there is a ghost drummer boy, you might get a glipse.

Godstone has bunny's you can pet! Historic Dockyard is good. Also chatham has the royal engineers museum. Farming World is fun. Whitstable is nice. Canterbury is great for wondering around. If the wearther is nice, it has some lovely parks. Danson, Swanley, The strand to name a few.
    Have fun.
  • I don't think anyone's mentioned Hever Castle which is a few miles from Tonbridge. It's the childhood home of Anne Boleyn. As well as the house to visit and extensive gardens there are 2 mazes - a traditional yew maze, an unusual water maze. There's also a very large tudor-themed wooden climbing frame for children and an exhibition of doll's houses through the ages. You can use Tesco deal tokens to get in.

I second Drusillas and Godstone Farm but for much better weather. Drusillas has a large outdoor paddling pool so bring swimming stuff.

Don't forget Bodiam Castle. It's my favourite of all time.

Thanks all. Just got back from my cottage in Kent and we had a lovely time. Weather was awful so we didn't get to do a lot of the outdoor stuff but we did go to Bodiam Castle which was a 5 minute drive from our cottage. it was really lovely and my daughter loved it.

We also did Drusillas which was great and killed a whole day. We even had some retail therapy at the designer outlet village in Ashford. The weather didn't help so we did go to a couple of local soft play places and the cinema in hastings.

Thanks for all your replies and suggestions.
