Sms

Over the last month i have benn receiving most days some rubbish txt regarding bidding for an i-pod.Certainly I didn`t reply to any of these nor were they ever requeted.I don`t do ring tones or any other``things`` that are sent to you via my mobile.Speaking to my mobile provider today it appears that I have been charged for these calls at a premium rate.

I am livid!!!!I have e-mailed the company asking where they have got my permission for this. Also i have said that I wil be seeking a full refund for these charges.

Btw,I am the only person who has access to my phone.

Any ideas please?

  • Have you tried texting the word STOP in reply to the number?

With a lot of text services this works.

I would go careful sending any SMS to them - may not be normal rates. I wouldn't risk it. Agree that junk SMS is becoming a real problem.

I had a SMS the other day on my O2 phone just entitled "Important". No number and it gave an option to open it (like you would an MMS) which seemed odd. I just deleted it.
  • Fair point, it will most likely cost more than a standard rate. It was just a thought on how other operstors can be stopped.

Well done on emailing the company by the way, i will be interested to hear if you get a response.
