capped gas&electric charges

I capped with Scottish Power 2 years ago. I pay £1 a month for the priviledge and if I stay with them for the 3 year capped period I get £36 refund (strange but true!!).
I recently checked my last years actual bills with the current prices and have saved just over £60. So my experience is that I saved significantly with capping. It is a bit of a gamble though, but does anyone think prices will go down in the future? Unlikely I think.
My savings for this next year I expect to be higher due to the round of price increases.
I would however suggest you compare the capped prices with offerings from other companies. Scottish Power online dual fuel was about the best option when I took it up but that was 3 years ago.0 -
