  • I bought a lovely expensive bagless cylinder vacuum cleaner to sweep up after my three kitty furballs - and managed to wreck it within 10 days. The filter in it could not cope with the cat hairs as they get stuck and clog it up and the cleaner cuts out. I tried using it without the filter and had myself one of those nice dust baths right in my front room (ha ha...wasn't laughing at the time but I did look damn silly!!)

I looked at the useless instruction manual and found in the tiny tiny small print that it is necessary to remove hair from areas to be cleaned as the cleaner is not designed to pick up this type of debris. DOH!!!!!!!!

Moral of the tale...don't buy bagless, they are USELESS!

  • I have a Dyson animal, and it seems to have no problems with the fur from my two little feline critters.

My dyson animal (the upright dc08 animal or something like that - its silver and purple anyway :D) has coped a treat with my moulting mastiff cross (V hairy!!!!)

Is SO easy to use and no probs at all. I prefer an upright type cleaner, but I hear the other littler one is fantastic too. :D

Our Dyson copes fine with my wife's VERY long hair - she moults everywhere! I don't agree at all that bagless are useless.

When we bought it, I vacuumed the living room (long shag) carpet in the house we were renting, which had been hoovered with the existing hoover recently and the Dyson was full before half the room was done! Far more effective than a bagged cleaner.
