Hello yes its prity grim isnt it
I suppose weve managed on bonuses and extra shifts ive taken (christmas rates etc
tried selling the horse but (who ive had for 11 years he is 16) but he got injured and is now unsaleable and retired so he is a big responsibility
I am worried about student income i will have to do bank night shifts as well
The bursary is income assessed as its a degree course husbands put in for a pay rise as they have given him another shop to look after so fingers crossed for that one husbands put in for a pay rise as they have given him another shop to look after so fingers crossed for that one
Im not giving up though doing my nurse training will help me to earn more in the end:(“most people give up just as they are about to achieve success”If you think you are going through hell keep going - Sir Winston ChurchillIf You Can't Change It, Change the Way You Think About It.SW, 13st5lb, -4 1/2, -1,(12st13.5lbs)0

My friends just starting out on her nursing diploma. She was undecided for a while as to which course. The diploma and degree are the same, its just the last year thats different, and you are no more employable with the degree. In the end it came down to finances - she gets financial help if she does the diploma and very little help if she does the degree. Might be worth weighing up how much help you get with each course?0
-
Yes i was going to do the diploma due to the financial reason but ive seen newly qualified nurses saying that they will top up the diploma to make a degree qualification thats 4 years of studying and as im already 100 i wanted to get it over and done with. The degree course is also, so ive been told but i may be mis informed geared towards management.
Sure, at the start it wont matter if you have a degree or not although if you want to teach or be in managemet position later on it may help“most people give up just as they are about to achieve success”If you think you are going through hell keep going - Sir Winston ChurchillIf You Can't Change It, Change the Way You Think About It.SW, 13st5lb, -4 1/2, -1,(12st13.5lbs)0

Do the diploma, get the extra financial help and top up later? Its true about it being more geared to management and paperwork side of nursing, you could get the diploma done and get into nursing and you may find you can top up whilst working.
