Juno hun x It's not so much that I care what people think of me personally (I couldn't give a stuff, lol) - it's what those remarks say about a lack of understanding and compassion for mental health issues, which makes this feel like living the Dark Ages rather than the 21st century... that's what i find rather sad. But there we are I guess.
And the wonderful people on this thread I have known and loved as real people for several years, so if they say nice things I am rather more inclined to believe them
Anyway, I really am going now!:D
Love and kisses to you all,
Sazzy xxxxxxxx
I'll give you an example. I have Coeliac disease, which means I'm allergic to gluten found in wheat. I always say that when I tell new people, as they mostly don't know what "Coeliac disease" is, and don't know what "gluten" is either. But then even after explaining that, a lot of people still don't get it. So I'm used to stupid questions now, like "can you eat biscuits?". One person I know is convinced I can't have mashed potato, yet will happily try and give me things I actually can't eat.
I've even had one person reassure me that something was gluten free, and then once I'd eaten it they calmly told me it wasn't. Turns out that because I don't swell up and die immediately they didn't believe I was allergic.
Anyway, my point is that if you had any other health condition you'd probably expect people to not understand. But because it's mental health, for some reason everyone expects everyone to instantly know everything and sympathise. I think that everyone is just getting a little upset because of the subject matter and is taking it a bit too personally.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

I'm having a hard day today. Didn't realise how much the house has fallen to peices. Can barely reach the keyboard there is that many empty cheesecake boxes! I'm going to turn my music up and try and tidy up a bit.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0

Mmmmm, cheesecake. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -

Chocolate and vanilla cheesecake - absolutely wonderful stuff! It comes in little pots - for some reason I don't feel as bad eating four little cheesecakes as I would after eating a whole big cheesecake hehe.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
