The amount of junk mail I have received over the years inviting me to open an account is incredable.

Well I sucumed in December for the 4% cashback offer and so became a customer

They are now pushing to go paperless to save trees and stuff.

Amazing , They sent the equivelent of a small forest to me in the form of junkmail when I had no relationship with them, so now I am a real customer thy can jolly well send me real monthly statements.;)

Yes it is cheeky, but there are ways of avoiding junk mail.

Make sure you are not on the edited version electoral register.
Sign up to MPS.
Call the company concerned and get them to remove you.
Opt out of royal mail door-to-door.
Don't give out your details willy nilly in every competition for something you don't need that you have zero chance of winning.

You can also still choose to have statements when you are a customer.
