Depends where you are going. I found in Thailand it is cheaper to exchange your cash when you get there, presumably because their wages and overheads and hence the costs are cheaper.0

I have never tried this, but I am told that HALIFAX HISPANIA will transfer free of charge to a HALIFAX account in the U.K.
Obviously i do not know what rate they would give, but it might be cheaper than using a spanish to english bank.
A mate of mine does it the other way Halifax U.K. to Halifax Hispania, he has always been happy with the service they have provided and the rate.
