Depends where you are going. I found in Thailand it is cheaper to exchange your cash when you get there, presumably because their wages and overheads and hence the costs are cheaper.

I have never tried this, but I am told that HALIFAX HISPANIA will transfer free of charge to a HALIFAX account in the U.K.
Obviously i do not know what rate they would give, but it might be cheaper than using a spanish to english bank.
A mate of mine does it the other way Halifax U.K. to Halifax Hispania, he has always been happy with the service they have provided and the rate.

I brought back 3500TT dollars from trinidad. It was money a friend borowed and a return deposit. Carnival was great, anyone know where the place is for me to change into pounds ??
