Ok not sure where to post this but I have just had a man round to give me a quote to move some rubbish and he said he will do it for a "score"
I told him I would get back to him.
I was too embarrased to ask him how much a score was

he assured me that he wouldnt - he is a gardener and it is bricks from a wall we knocked down - he said he was going to use it for "hardcore".
thanks everyone sounds ok then0 -
A score is twenty - it's not slang, or if it is it's very old slang. In the bible "the days of our years are three score years and ten" refers to people living to seventy. Not even wrong0

"hardcore" - now that's a different matterNot even wrong0

As in 'fourscore years and ten' = 70, a lifetime in Bible terms.
Doesn't anyone learn these things any more?

Four score years and ten was 90 when I went to school.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

Back of the class for margaretclare. Four score = 4 x 20 = 80
80 +10 = 90."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."
