My suggestion is going to be biased towards the high street as I believe they are more secure in the current credit liquidity crisis.
Thus with a high net rate - which is instant access (1 free withdrawal) - it is this here

Sorry notis7 but isn't this statement just a little bit wide of the mark? If memory serves correct isn't NR and Barclays (to name a couple) high street banks.

Anyway, its a bit mute unless the OP exceeds the £35k guarantee limit.
