Argos returns policy for a PSP

Hi!
I've got a problem with my Sony PSP and wondered if anyone can advise. I bought it from Argos last summer and for a while it has been erasing or corrupting the memory sticks I put in it.
I need to take it back and I've got all the bits, box and receipt but I travel round with my job and am rarely in the same place so I don't really want it repaired or to get sent away.
I use it to keep me entertained on my travels so would like it sorted! Are there any Argos employees or people with experience of this who can advise where I stand and what the chances are of Argos exchanging it for me?
Thanks a lot!

Argos won't replace it as it's more than 30 days old. They usually refer you to sony who will collect the PSP and repair it. If they can't repair it they will give you a replacement.0

I replaced mine directly with Sony - they sent a courier to do a doorstep exchange within a week HTH0

The contract is with Argos, it is up to Argos to sort it out, not Sony.I've given up trying to get my signature to work with the new rules, if nobody knows what the rules are what hope do we have?0 -
As its still under a year old i would be going to Argos to get it exchanged/repaired;) Apart from anything else you would definatly expect the lifespan of a psp to be longer than around 6-7 months so IMHO it hasn't been fit for purpose which is your No1 ground for replacement/repair! Let us know how you get on:)
HTH:DThought for today:-
There comes a time in your life when you realise who matters, who used to matter and those that never did;)
:T Now facing my debts instead of hiding from them!:T
Thanks to everyone on here than has helped me through my darkest days!:D0 -
Hi, you wouldnt per chance be getting these memory sticks from ebay would you, they are mainly fake on there0

I had a DS from Argos that went wrong within the 1 year warranty. Took it back to Argos they returned it to Nintendo and I was sent back a brand new one!! No charge as covered by warranty and took about 10 days altogether. They will not replace it on the spot, you will have to wait for it to be sent back to Sony.0

Yes the contract is with Argos, but for some reason Sony (and Xbox) won't deal with us. All they tell us is ask the customer to contact us directly.
At the end of the day, does it really matter who sorts it as long as it's sorted?0 -

Don't be put off buying memory from ebay and saving plenty.
I have purchased many many memory sticks from ebay. For PSP, DS, Digital cameras and just for databackup. I have purchased from the UK and the Far East and have never had a fake one.
I am sure that there may be one or two "dodgy" companies, but read the ratings and feedback and you should be ok.0 -
The person/company i baught from had a very high rating +10000, but it was obviously fake, it is well documanted in the internet and even on the ebay website. they will work but only for a while. just dont take the chance and buy from ebuyer etc...0

They will give you the Sony number and Sony will repair/replace it. You won't get a on the spot replacement.0
