Are you trying to tell me that a 3 month old PC wouldn't come preinstalled with XP SP2?

    Never assume anything.
More than likely to be Vista.
No mention of OS in original post.
    Why take unnecessary risks?
Download, disconnect, uninstall old, install new AV.
    Move along, nothing to see.
  • If I thought there was a risk involved I would have said so. An opinion is only and opinion, and assumption is a skill.

We'll just have to agree to disagree.

So you say there is no risk involved.

    You then say
    assumption is a skill.
An assumption is made because all the facts are not available, and so, using for example, past experience, you try to fill those gaps. You may get close but it is still not the same as knowing all the facts , no matter how skilled you may be, otherwise it would not be an assumption.

So to recap, there is no risk, but you are making an assumption, which by its' nature has an element of the unknown (or risk).
    That doesn't make sense.

The advice I gave was generic and makes no assumptions about OS, it was valid for any of the Windows systems.

Never assume because it can make an A** of U and ME.
MSE obvious thought I was using a rude word.
    Move along, nothing to see.
  • Thanks for the English lesson. Why dont you just move on? This is a forum, not a school classroom.

Spud17. If you insist on taking other peoples comments out of context you'll find yourself in this kind of petty argument a lot.
If you cannot read other peoples posts in relation to the thread they are in then you arn't going to get very far.
I work in an environment where wind-ups are part and parcel of everyday life, and if you start using pompous phrases such as above, then you are going to get wound up, especially when you've only been here 5 minutes.

You must learn to chill, or you'll burn out before you're 26, especially if you keep getting dragged into petty arguments.

As for the English lesson, do you proof read your posts?

We all make the occasional mistake, .......but?

It's been a laugh, time to move on I think.

At least you weren't patronising, were you, son.

Ah well, off to the pub, ta ta.
    Move along, nothing to see.
  • If that's your attempt at a wind up then I doubt you get very far in your workplace...

Instead of repeating the comments I've made, and attempting to make judgements about me, why do you do as advised and move on?

Have fun in the pub, big boy, you're so mature!
