Car Insurance requirements in UK when living overseas

Hi
I have moved overseas for work .Do I need to keep my car insurance in the UK as I am in the process of selling my car and my insurance is due to expire.

    If it is on the road it needs to be insured, if it is on a private driveway then you could complete a SORN for the DVLA to show it is not on the road and you won't need insurance. The downside is that you wouldn't be covered for fire or theft.
