Get 1000 Clubcard points from Tescos Life Insurance

Tescos' website has a "price promise" where they will give you 1000 clubcard points if you find a cheaper quote elsewhere. http://www.tescofinance.com/personal/finance/insurance/lifeins/lifeinsurance/

Didn't realise they weren't actually very cheap!!! I have subsequently got a cheaper quote from an online broker (got a list of cheap online brokers from the directory part of Webline - the prices between the brokers do vary for some reason, so you may have to check more than one) I presume you could also use moneysavingexpert's affliate link to insuresupermarket - although not sure if they will give you a cheaper quote.

Anyway get the cheaper quote and bob's your uncle 1000 clubcard points.

Hope this is useful!

    Tesco Price Promise!

We are so confident that we offer great value for money that if you apply for Tesco Life Insurance and then get a cheaper like for like policy elsewhere we'll give you 1,000 Clubcard Points.

To claim the 1,000 points just call 0845 845 1477 within 3 months of applying for your Tesco policy. Calls may be recorded. Provide us with details of your like for like cheaper policy along with your Clubcard details. Your Clubcard Points will be awarded within one month of your claim.

Tesco use Norwich Union, and the premium appears discounted slightly from NU standard range was offered by financial advisers, however other advisers may also offer discounted options ( reduced commission) or other providers may be cheaper anyway, that said its down you to decide if you want to apply for cover to get this £10 value ( or £40 in deals) ?

  • I'm presuming it's possible to cancel the policy and take out a new one, keeping the 1000 clubcard points.

Not sure if you could actually make 1000 points from this by applying, finding a cheaper quote and then cancelling in the cooling off period with nothing to pay.. any views payless??

hard to say they paid up the 3500 pts for applying , but then introduced drip rewards, I personally think they would have to sand by the 1000 pts even if you cancel straightaway, although what do I know!

The UKs largest IFA network took NU to task on this last year. They provided NU with far more business but NU gave Tesco better rates. I dont know what the outcome was though.

DD- do a few quotes, theses supermarket rates don't seem as good as they used to, plus take a look at their commission disclosure - the ones I did allowed me to easily undercut and still earn more

Ahh, perhaps the insurers listened. I will have a play on Monday to compare.

  • The best quote I have found for 35 next birthday (Dec), 20 years and 120,000 cover is £7.31 (reviewable) or £8.42 (Guaranteed). Is this a good rate or is it possible to get much better elsewhere?

Forget reviewable as that is pointless. Guaranteed can be beaten. £8.15 guaranteed is what I can come up with and I know I am not going to be the cheapest.
