hi we are currently residing in a rented unfurnished house.
we are moving house at the end of march 250 miles away. my contents insurance for this year is about to end.
so basically i need to know when i get a renewal on my contents insurance, what do i need to make sure i have in the T&C's so that all my possesions are covered during the move.
thanks paul

Look at some policy wordings online and look for exclusions under the contents section. Often insurers head this "things we will not pay for".
Most of them will exclude cover for contents during a house move unless moved by a professional firm of movers.
I remember doing a DIY move myself a few years back now and hoping that the useless brakes on the hire van would stop it in time, knowing full well that all my worldly goods in the back would not be covered by the insurers.
EDIT
This is the relevant clause from an NU Direct policy for instance.
Part P
Household RemovalsWe will provide cover for loss of or
