Southgate Road, Islington to Kingston Station

Hi people

I hope you can help me in working out the cheapest way to do this journey.

I have a Young Persons railcard and need to be at Kingston station by 8.45am tomorrow morning.

The TFL site says to take a bus to waterloo, then purchase a ticket to Kingston.

How much does the train ticket cost? Is it much the same to buy a return ticket? Could I buy a return ticket and exit the train at a different station than I originally bordered? If I need to use the tube later in the day, how much extra does the ticket cost and is the Young Person's discount still applicable on the whole cost? Further to this, the bus fare I will have paid that morning would have been included in the travel card had I had this already upon boarding the bus - is that right?
