Help re posted eBay item

I sold an item and the buyer paid via paypal. I posted the item to the buyer's confirmed address (which also happened to be his work address). He is saying he hasn't received it but the online tracker says it was signed for last week and it gives the person's signature and name.
Where do I stand if he still claims he hasn't received it? It's only a small amount (around £10.00).
Thanks

Have you told him the name of the person who signed for it? If it's been signed for, you have a strong case in the event of a dispute.
IMO, he needs to speak to his colleagues. My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Thanks.
Yes, I've just emailed the buyer the name of the person who signed for it. I'll just have to wait for his answer tomorrow. Don't know if he is just trying it on or maybe he works for a big firm and someone in his firm has signed for it and either not given it to him or lost it.0 -
I have had this problem in the past
posted to someone at work sent
on recorded.Someone signed with a bogus
name and I ended up having to refund, which
including post was £17.99.Since then when ever
its a works address I insist on Special delivery
no exceptions, also I never ever post to PO boxes
and always insist on a home address on the paypal
account. They have a habit of going missing as well:j:j:j0 -
I've been using eBay for about 7 years but in the past couple of months I seem to keep getting people trying it on. Just having one final clearout before the new rules come in and before I stop selling.0

We had one recently sent to a work address & started a INR Dispute with Paypal, RM showed its was signed by Russell Xxxxxx.
Buyer said no-one called Russell worked there, so I dug their number from Google & rang them & requested to speak to Russell, Hey Presto I was put straight through & he confirmed that he had given the buyer the item.
I then got him to transfer me to the buyer & Russell told him that he'd just confirmed he had given him the item, Buyer apologised stating he couldn't remember & closed the Paypal claim the same day.0 -
If you have tracking though to a confirmed address then paypal should find for the seller anyway.
This is why I don't like recorded delivery though, I'm not sure exactly what it achieves if the buyer complains that someone else signed for it. Recorded is not a safe service and once Royal mail consider it delivered then of course you no longer have a claim for loss in post.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. in this case either RD or SD would give the same result.
'ive seen this a few times where items are signed in a workplace and not passed on,laid aside etc0
