  • I havent got round to it yet... I had planned to but never got round to it...
Im going to try and get it done at weekend but Ive got some card orders in to do and also a busy weekend planned! Ive got all the bits ready... I cant wait to get it done and hung up in my kitchen.
Ive been trying to finish my Mums scarf for Sunday too. I made one ages ago and put it away, but decided to make another one using different coloured firefly. Ive found a gorgeous Vintage looking Cameo brooch in Past Times which Im going to pin onto the scarfs once folded up and then wrap them in Tissue paper and put them in one of the gift boxes I got from Tescos.
I called into Au Natrale in my lunch hour today and found some lovely cupcake shaped gift bags in lovely pastel colours , blues, aqua and pink with glitter detail they were lovely although they were £1.80 for 1.
  • I just want to say if any of you can get hold of those stacking gift boxes the ones that are £1.50 for 4 I really would get them ..Ive used them to wrap a few gifts and they look fantastic. I used a beautiful pealised butterfly wrap and tied this with pink ribbon then lined the gift boxes with pink tissue and popped the gifts into the boxes. Ive left them open at the moment but will fold the tissue in when they are ready to go and pop the lid on.

I got my pearlised wrap in Boyes for 99p and you get 1 large sheet of wrap, a lovely gift tag, pink tissue and pink ribbon in the pack. I believe some pound shops also sell a similar thing.
  • our tescos was absolutely rubbish and its one of the biggest in england!!

How are you going to decorate the pin board poppy ? I'm racking my brain for ideas for birthday and christmas presents for my teenage grandson..........grandaughter is easy - anything girlie.
Could I do something with a pin board for a teenage boy ?

(Been hoarding wine bottle corks as well and I've seen them done as a pin board..............might try that )

  • Ive got a template for cupcakes and Im going to make each one from a combination of gift wrap and backing papers then add embellishments to each one such as stick on gems, bows and baby pink and white glitter. Around the edge of the board Im planning on sticking the baby pink gingham ribbon then the cupcakes will go on top of this around the edge but spaced out a little to show the gingham ribbon. Im also going to make some wired butterflies using dress making net and pop one in each corner....

Mary - ideas for a boy could be, a space theme... make space craft, planets and stars to decorate the outside( obv this one is for a younger little boy)

A football theme- make a goal from pipe cleaners or card and attach this to the top, make some grass from green paper to run under the goal and to the sides. Make card footballs, yellow and red cards and maybe pin a whistle to the corner of the board on some string.

A music theme - edge the board in black and make some silver musical notes to stick around the board.

Ill post anymore ideas as I get the inspiration!

Like the music theme idea...........he does like football but is more into music I think...........bit like his dad.
How do I go about making this ? Do I have to cut the corks in half to stick them on a board ? Never done it before so haven't a clue...............lol

  • O dear, I was in a Tesco Superstore in the North... the clothes dept is nothing special but the bits downstairs were great... I love the £1 boxes, but you have to be there when they have the good things on sale. My Mum says I have an eye for the good bits...

mary43 Im not sure how you would make a pinboard using corks. They might be something on the internet to help you out???

After reading this thread, I wanted to make some pretty cupcakes for my mam, and this is what I accomplished, I was very pleased with them and luckily so was she.

There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.
