I went to see my friend today and called in to Tesco where she lives and got a gorgeous pink fabric covered box for £2 its so pretty, inside Ive lined it with loads of baby pink tissue and have placed a lovely pink Mothers Day photo scrapbook I got for £5. The whole gift cost me £7.97 which isnt bad considering the box can be used as pretty storage and looks so expensive.
I got it for MIL and OH said "What is she going to do with that?" I was a little bit hurt as I thought it looked really nice as MD gift.
Also got some stacking gift boxes (4 in a pack) for £1.50 they are so pretty in pastel colours, pinks, greens and lemon. Ill use to wrap birthday gifts.
I got a pin board for 50p that Im going to decorate round the edge with cupcakes and pink gingham ribbon.
I was going round Tesco so excited with my goodies as I love to mess on.

that lot sounds lovely and typical of a
lot of men they just dont see the potential
in things straight off the way we do.
I think its going to be well recieved

I love pretty things and OH says his Mum isnt into pink.. I said thats prob cos no one ever gets her pink stuff, until now! Im going to get her some of those Hyacinths in pots from Morrisons too and use tissue paper and cello wrap to fancy them up like they do at the florists and charge £££ for.0

Must have a walk to our Tescos and see if they stock all this stuff. It's not a very big store by comparison to some but you never know...........sounds like there's some bargains to be had.
Bit late for me for Mothers day...............just been and got frame for an old postcard size photo of Mum and her brother when they were little, finished off her card -wrote a poem for her and had to take it to comp. shop to print out..........it's A5 card I've made for her and I could not work out on my printer how to do it to fit...........anyway I've done it now.............seems to have taken me ages but I like the end result.
Oh spoke to his Mum last night (his niece has just had baby girl so another card to be made)..........his Mum prefers flowers........well shall we say, she dropped enough hints...........so all my little bargains stashed away in the spare room will stay there for now while I order a bunch of 'expensive' flowers for her...............Oh well, she's worth it.Mary

Princesspoppypop - your gifts sound really lovely and your MIL should be really chuffed. Sounds like a very good trip to Tescos - I love it when I find a bargain there to break up the monotony of grocery shopping!
I'm hoping to pop to Tescos tomorrow - do you have any pics of your finds? In which aisles were the stacking boxes, pink fabric box and pinboard? I'd love to see your finished pinboard - sounds gorgeous.0 -

The box and pinboard were in some sale boxes, where items were half marked price, near the home office stuff ( I was in a Tesco Superstore).
Ill try and post some pics 2moro, so you can see the bits...
Ive got my friend to pick up another box today for me.
There was a massive sale display too that had icecream bubbles for 50p (ideal for kids easter gifts) an artists paint brush set for 50p, bath scrunchies 5 for 50p, a sweet basket with a loofah, nail brush and scrunchie in it for £1... and loads more.
Ive gift wrapped MD spoon in one of the stacking boxes lined with pink tissue and ooo it looks so fab!:j
I love Tesco bargains!
Im going to sit and decorate the edge of the pin board tonight with mini cupcakes and ribbon!:D0 -

I knew a while back when it was but its still ended up a last minute panic...........got photo framed for my Mum of her and her brother when they were little, finished off her card with a poem I managed to create myself, just finished MIL's card (started these cards ages ago, got complacent about how long I had left !!!)............now just have to order flowers for MIL and post Mums and thats sorted. Phew !!!Mary

I'm trying to be organised about everything this year
ordered MIL flowers 2 weeks ago, going to pop into boots tomorrow with a voucher for 5 free digital prints- courtesy of sohurt- going to print MIL a piccy of the 3 grandchildren and use a frame i picked up in the sales.
Going to lay flowers for my mum on sunday morning. If everyone cared and nobody cried, if everyone loved and nobody lied, if everyone shared and swallowed their pride then we'd see the day when nobody died.

Hi princesspoppypop - just wondered how you were getting on with your pin boards - can't wait to see them! I found some of the pin boards in my local Tescos (but none of the other goodies) so thanks for sharing that. I've been meaning to decorate some pin boards for several years but it's one of those things I've never got round to - still not sure when I will get round to it but at least I have the boards now!0
