The binary calculator is a lot of rubbish.There will be no differences in taxation between 08/09 and 09/10 apart from the usual PA. Additionally the 10% banding is being scrapped next month ie April 2008, not 2009 like the binary calculator suggests.

Anyone earning over £15000 will see an increase due to 22% down to 20%.
Anyone earning less than £15000 will suffer due to abolotion of 10% tax band.0 -
I think those on an income of about £35k will benefit the most from the new rates, after that the amendments to NICs mean the increase in take home pay starts to reduce, such that someone on £40k will actually be slightly worse off.0
