Help what benefits are they entitled to

Hi,

I am posting this on behalf of my FIL and his wife to try and find out if they are entitled to any benefits.

My FIL has just turned 66 his wife is 51. My FIL is retired and received £120 a week in pension, with an additional £80 a month for something?

His wife earns £13000 a year.

My FIL has corhns desease, diabetes and has been recieving treatment for lung cancer.

I have tried entitled to but I can not get it too work.

They pay somewhere between £70-£80 a week in rent, no HB and full council tax.

Any help would be gratefully appricated

He can try claiming for Attendance Allowance.

But as his wife works then they would not any extra help with rent or council tax.

Also income to much for tax credits.

  • Thanks for the advice, I was hoping that they would be able to claim more but I will get them to look at attendance allowance.

If anyone has any other thoughts I'd be interested to hear them.

Would they be able entilted to a discount on there council tax as FIL is over 65?

As he has lung cancer he could be fast tracked for AA. Council tax rebate is on income I'm afraid not age
