Parcelforce Question

I have read in a few posts that people have been booking Parcelforce online but then dropping the package off at the post office.

How do you do this? Don't you have to put in a collection address?

It's probably obvious but I can't figure it out! :o

Many thanks for any help!

    via Paypal Postage
    Parcelforce 24: £11.99
    Parcelforce 48: £10.99

If its an eBay item, Select Print Postage Label

Log into Paypal & select Parcelforce 24 or 48, enter the weight (Maximum limit is 30 kilograms.)

You'll then have 2 x Postage Options, Drop off or Book a collection
To find you local Parcelforce accepting Post office Click Here

Select Drop off, Enter the Parcels value & click Continue
Check the details & check the acceptance box & click Pay

Paypal will then provide a postage label for you to print off, that needs to be put on your parcel.

You now have 5 working days to drop it off at your local PF accepting PO

Never leave anything of value at the PO for parcelfarce to collect. I did, and the PO staff stole the laptop.

Darn, does this mean my journeys to my nearest Parcelforce depot (10 miles) have been a waste of time???
  • Today I printed off the Parcelforce label, took my package and went to the local post office, which was listed under the Parcelforce PO locator as a drop off location.

They said they couldn't take it - they had never been a drop-off point for Parcelforce and were fairly unhelpful. I went to the next PO on the list, and they also said they did not take Parcelforce parcels. They called someone higher up and I was told if I could get to the sorting office in 15 mins then I could get the package on a Royal Mail truck heading for the Parcelforce depot.

I made it in time but they didn't have a scanner or anything, they just signed the piece of paper that I had printed. I am hoping it will get to it's destination. They also said the sorting depot was not a Parcelforce drop off point, and I would have to go to an actual Parcelforce depot, which is around 45 miles away.

Has anyone else had problems dropping off a Parcelforce package at a post office?

    Many thanks!

well i can confirm most rm sorting offices are not PF drop off points.
theres very little cross over in PF/RM traffic

tbh i know a lot of post offices are even loathed to take large RM items for local collect(with a 50p PO counters fee) due to space restrictions.
i dont know the actual rules on this and same goes for accepting PF items.
im assuming PF must pay post office counters in some way for this service

you may want ot contact rm customer services to query the refusal by listed po's

We use the Parcelforce service via Paypal Postage for our Northern Ireland orders.

When we take them to our local PO, they just scan the barcode with their own scanning system (same as Special Delivery) & print us a copy of acceptance showing the tracking number, then the parcels are collected & shown on the PF tracking system later that day.

I can only presume that some SUB Post Offices do not want the extra work & as Custardy states, contact RM CS & make a complaint.
