Keyboard problem

1st post to site, although have been a regular visitor for some time (at work.)
Just got PC at home and need help! How do I change keyboard setting? I think i've set it to an American setting - can't use pound sign and @ is in wrong place!! Have searched 'help and support' in Windows XP but can't work out how to change this. Can anyone out there help???

    Thanx- now ok on "works" but still not right-can't do pound sign on here (and @ still in wrong place) Any ideas???

    Go back and check that you've done the settings properly. Its a pesky little !!!!!!.

    Make sure you press APPLY as well.

    Did you add "English UK" to "English US" and then remove "English US"? If not you may still have US English set as the default.

    Don't worry - have fixed it (yippee!!!) Still had US keyboard installed, so guessed I prob needed to uninstall! I'm sure I'll get the hang of this one day!! Would never have worked that out for myself so thanks again! I knew this would be the place to ask!!!
