Ebuyer item received damaged

I received my desk from Ebuyer today and its damaged, the wood is chipped at the sides, i called them and they said i would receive an email within 48 hours telling me when it will be collected, then sent back to Ebuyer, only when they have verified the damage will they send a replacement one out...does anyone know from previous experience how long this might take??
so i have to take more days off work, and i thought it would be easier to have a desk delivered to my home rather than go buy one and take a taxi home...would it be worth complaining about this to Ebuyer or will it just be thats how it works if an item is damaged...you agree to our terms and conditions by buying from us...
sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, not sure where else to post it?

Can you not ask a neighbour to take it for you, get it left in the garden, get it delivered to work, get a non-working relative to stay in etc.
If you were there then why did you accept the previous item?
As you have taken time off then it would have been a lot less hassle to unwrap, inspect and reject all in one go, saving another day off for collection.
You could complain to ebuyer and see where ou get, but it would be sensible to inspect the item before you accept it.
The fact that you signed for it and accepting it does not really work in your favour.
I realise it take time to unwrap and check but it's better than taking another day off isn't it?0 -
That's normal procedure with Ebuyer. Will probably take from 3-5 days from when they get it back for you to get a replacement based on my experience with them. I doubt if complaining will get you anywhere. Afraid it's just bad luck.0

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. I found them to be very good-apart from City-link carrier they used who failed to deliver an item saying i was not in.I kept in close contact with ebuyer after that to chase it up on the intended day of delivery.0
