Hi all – just had a builder round for a quote on my kitchen extension…
Going out to the side of the property – single storey 5mtrs*1.5mtrs
Existing window changed to French doors.
2 velux windows to new roof
Builder is finishing at build only – getting my own joiner to put in the kitchen…
Said it would take him around 12weeks to complete...
Any ideas what would sound reasonable??
Thanks all....

We had 6Mx4M extension done, finished externally, bare inside for £9000 in labour. Sourced all the materials ourselves, haggled like crazy. Plumbed, wired ourselves, £400 for a plasterer.
We spent £18000 (in total) but that included solar panels, under floor heating, velux window with roller shutter, a bathroom, floor tiles and the furniture,. Much cheaper than the £24,000 we were quoted for a conservatory of the same size. Planning permission and buildings regulations applications came to almost £2000!
Builder took 7 weeks. We took another 3 months of evenings and weekends.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
The builder that came yesterday said it would take 7 weeks. he has lots of ideas and will email us some drawings and written quotes. I hope we can use him as we got a good vibe from him and he was very articulate for a builder. We were impressed.
