How do we cancel McAfee

anyone know how we can cancel our McAfee subscription, as we thought we had it cancelled 2 years ago. Just found out it has been paid yet again by a bank visa card, even though we cancelled this card and handed it back to the bank when we changed our bank account. McAfee don't see to have phone numbers, their package is rubbish and we had to buy a new norton one a few years ago. We have sent loads of e-mails to this crowd and any phone numbers we had seemed to be agents around the world who really don't want to know about a cancellation. The bank is another matter, they are a law onto themselves. Any help will be greatly received.:mad:

They are all US phone numbers, but give them a call and explain the problem and theu should be able to help.

If you cancelled the card, and your bank still authorised a payment on it, they must be at fault too, it must breach some T+Cs, like if you cancel a DD and then a payment is still taken out.

Get rid of it and Norton, and use free tools like AVG Free (anti-virus) and all manner of good freebie anti-spyware things. Firewall choose ZoneAlarm or Comodo.

If you are in the UK, you can cancel McAfee by calling a McAfee Customer Service representative, on 020 79490107.

You may be asked for your registered email address and order number. Telephone charges may apply.
Estimated wait time: 10-30 minutes

Hours of Operation: 09.00-18.00 local, Monday through Friday

If you have purchased McAfee via another supplier you need to go to that supplier to cancel. Some suppliers sell McAfee at special rates (such as AOL UK Security site, which sells the latest version of McAfee).

If you purchased McAfee via AOL, and you are an AOL Broadband customer do a search for "AOL UK McAfee cancel" and you will see the link to cancel. (I can't post the link here as I am a first time poster to these message boards so am not allowed to have links in my post)

And finally, before you cancel your McAfee subscription, make sure you have alternate protection on your PC to ensure you stay protected online. Have a look at the Get Safe Online site to learn more about keeping your privacy and identity safe online. Get Safe Online is a UK government backed campaign and national initiative to teach citizens about online security. (Just do a search for "Get Safe Online" to learn more).

Which? Magazine also has some great reviews of competing security providers. McAfee does very well (as does Norton) for all round security.

Never never never pay for securety package for your home computer, it can be protected very well for free, this board is full of good advice, look at the sticky thread "what security to you use" it will tell you all you need to know.
