Baby Show NEC - Worth the money?

Hello,
Just wondering if anyone has attended a baby show before and if so, did they think it was worth the money to go? There is one in Birmingham NEC in May that I am considering going to and am not sure if it would work out cheaper to order the advance booking tickets or to wait until closer to the time to see if any cheaper ones or freebies come up? What has your experience of this been. I got free tickets to the homebuilding and renovating show but wonder if the baby show is so much more popular that there are never freebies?
Thanks
Taliwillow

If you are a member on the Bounty website, there is a link for member's discounts. I'm not registered so I can't tell if it's worthwhile!"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0

We went to the Babyshow in Glasgow for a couple of years. It was worthwhile if you were expecting a baby or had a little one under the age of 1 You could pick up some discounted stuff but not a major deal.
It did give you the chance though to view lots of different things under one roof though such as pushchairs and try out which one was the best.
Being honest though - unless you are prepared to buy stuff, I probably wouldn't go. I can't resist stuff and say no !So little money - so much time :mad:0 -
Hiya
I have been to the birmingham one for the past couple of years and I think it is worth the money, my little girl is 2 now but I have our second baby on the way so will be attending this may too. You get loads of freebies and last year I got a free professional photo of my little girl done, they took loads of photo's and give you a free one then you can order other pics from the comfort website, also we went to the Prima baby stand and we had our photo took together and they sent a mock up front cover of their mag with me and my daughter on the front cover0 -
I have just noticed on the freebies board that Martin has 10 pairs of tickets to give away. this is for the baby show in London though. So i don't know if it is any use to you.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

Funnily enough i found this thread whilst searching to see if anyone has info on freebies this year at the Baby Show NEC '08!
Basically, I went last year, and the freebies i got were:
A free Water Filter machine (worth £9.99) via printoff voucher (nothing this year so far though-this is what i was looking for on here!)
Pampers pack with folder for pregnancy notes, post it notes, newborn nappy and wipes and a bump tape measure (my bump was 117cm at 9 months! EEK!)
Huggies pack with newborn nappy and wipes
Bounty pregnancy pack (with freebies and vouchers inside)
Fairy samples and vouchers and a cotton baby hat
Persil samples and vouchers in goody bag
Pregnacare vest and vitamins
SMA towel
NUK teats
Avent breast milk container and teats
Free baby food at a few "cafes" sponsored by Hipp etc.
Free baby play areas
Didn't do the photos as no baby then (just a 22week bump) this time i have a 7 month old that is gorgeous!
Hope you go and have a great time!
I bought tickets off ebay for £19. Was bit peed off though as seller didn't state she was selling complimentary tickets!

Thanks for your response superflygal. Can I just ask, is there something wrong with Complimentary tickets as I have also just bought some from ebay. I got them for £16.50 including postage but because I had one of the ebay discount codes I have actually paid £6.50 so am quite pleased with that. Am looking forward to going now!

I'm guessing superflygal meant they were free to the seller, hence her peedoffness at the price :A
Have a great time, I have always wanted to go to a baby show, but never had any volunteers to go with . (although loved the wedding show, and adore the food and drink - amazing for freebies):wall:0 -
That is precisely what i meant Agutka, Didn't mind Seller getting them for free, but she made her auction look like it was for "paid for" tix. Even quoting the face value:eek:
Good on you for getting tix for £6.50! That is defo a bargain! If you see a dark haired lady, 31, and her mum (50s short dark hair) pushing a Loola with a blond baby boy 7 1/2 months, be sure to say hello!!!!! Hope you have a great time. I took a photo of all the freebies last year and could only just fit them in the pic. Great stuff!
SFG x
PS Agutka, you are welcome to come along with me!0 -
PS Agutka, My baby was born 10th Oct 2007!0

Oh, I'm going! :jMaybe we should all wear red carnations!
I will be with DH minus baby as my sister is babysitting DD and the dog for the day :rotfl:.
Been looking on eBay for tickets and most are the complimentary type although official prebooked advance tickets are £11.50 not £13.50. Still undecided about how to get mine.
Don't think I will be beating your price though. Taliwillow!
SFG, were the freebies really that good?!Looking forward to going even more now.
