Does it have 'Wee bairns' and 'eye infirmary' in the title?
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

    The Scramble
Start collecting your change for this uniquely Scottish custom. As a gesture to insure good fortune in your marriage, many couples opt to continue the tradition of the scramble. Upon leaving the church the bride and groom scatter coins to the assembled children to collect. Legend has it that this token will be constantly returned to the bride and groom throughout the marriage.

Another site said the brides father does it as the bride gets into the car to leave for church too... Best do it both ways just to be on the safe side ;)

Will have to raid DD's piggy bank shortly then am not brave enough to rummage under the sofa cushions - something might jump up and bite me.

I'm not having a car to get to the venue maybe someone can walk in front of me and scatter coins - would make a change from rose petals :rotfl:

How far is it you have to walk? Could cost you a fortune...

I would scatter money here but I really dislike the local kids... Don't wanna give them anything!

  • It's not far from the hotel to the hall along the footpath but not sure if coins are poisonous to ducks sheep and horses

May have to invest in some white wellies for the walk and then change into my very posh and expensive shoes - this has been my only splurge so far and they are just gorgeous.

Am sure wellies will work out cheaper than the quote we had for a wedding car at £350 and on a Monday as well

You could nip out the night before and superglue them to the pavement and then watch out of the window :rotfl:

I like the white wellies idea.. I was trying to sell OH on white trainers for under my dress but he was not impressed lol.

I covered my wall in a clear viscous material last week... was amusing when they turned up to use it as their youth club / litter bin...

Hi i have brought my wedding flowers from a seller from ebay, i decided to buy foam one's, as i couldn't justify spending hundreds on flowers that die! they are so gorgeous, and for the money amazing value. In the bundle i got my man's buttonhole as i wanted the colours to match as his is a double rose one. But now need to get buttonholes for who???
    1- Best man
    2 - My Dad
3 - Our pageboy (our son)

Do i get one's for immediate family also? Like h2b's dad, my stepdad, my brothers? Or am i expected to buy everyone one?

I know it is up to me at the end of the day, and i dont mind buying them for everyone, but if jusy family where to you draw the line?

    Many thanks

We bought them for all immediate males..... I have 3 brothers & OH has 1 brother & a BIL & my grandad (I also got them silk ties off ebay to match colour scheme so they were identifiable as family) they really appreciated it too. Got girly ones' for my mum, his mum & my godmother

    Have a great day
