  • I also received this letter today, except that mine is only going upto 20.9%. Luckily for me, the only balance I have on this card is a 3.9% LOB offer, but not good news for most.
  • Has anyone managed to negogiate their rate down? I just phoned to check my balance and got through to some foreign person who hardly understood me - i didn't bother trying as i felt i would be wasting my time

  • Have the M&S card for the 1% cashback only. Pay off the balance in full each month. Wonder if they will be increasing the APR across the board?

It still says it's 18.9% on the website (after any introduction offer).

When I look at my statement dated 13th of Feb, it says the rate is 19.9% (the effective rate)?

What's it supposed to be now, before it goes up?

This is not happening to everyones card. The standard rate is staying the same at 18.9%. Its just some individual accounts are going to increase. Very common for credit card companies.

Same here... but can they back out of the 3.9% LOB offer and decide to whack the 20.9% onto that too? Are LOB offers binding? Can't they just change the rules whenever they feel like it? That's what's been worrying me...

No not at all. If you have taken it out on 3.9% for the LOB then there is no way they could increase that BT to 20.9%.
