Checking out property credit check

We are FTBs and in the process of my lawyer doing the searches, etc. I was wondering whether there is any way of finding out whether the property has been under any defaults by any of its previous owners/tenants in their financial deals which may affect my credit rating?
Appreciate if someone here could help me out on this....any info, web links, etc will be appreciated.

the house or previous owners etc wont affect your credit rating as you are not associated with them0

It may do ?
My parents had debt collectors letters searching for somebody who didn't and had never lived at their previous address. They wouldn't believe my parents responce basically saying 'we don't know what you are on about'.
It was eventually sorted but my sister, for some reason was never able to get any type of credit (mobile phone contract). She had only finished school at the time !Never buy a stupid dwarf -

obviously you will receive letters etc but it wont affect you, as for your sister i imagine the main reason is as you say, she had only left school and therefore had no credit history.0 -
Hi All i find myself in almost a similair situatoin , were about to rent a property where the previous tenants have been evicted for non payment -
now would this address not be on a blacklist some where ?
ie when we move in and try to apply for credit or insurace our premiums wil go through the roof
is there any way we can check out if the property has ben blacklisted ??
and how to we get it removed ??0 -
We've had the debt collectors round at our rented property as the previous tenant left without paying the gas bill. All we had to do was show them the tenancy agreement as proof of moving date etc. and we've had no problems since. Properties aren't blacklisted.0

We bought a new house six years ago,it had previously had a row of old houses where the new ones were built. We moved in 10 months after the old ones were demolished. We kept getting phone calls asking for a certain person, the caller didint believe me when I went through the story,we had just moved in ,old property been demolished ect.He said well how come you have the same phone no then.Turns out that British Telecom had given us the same phone no as the old hose of the same sddress. This only caused more problems.Well to cut a long story short,I had six months of nasty letters and phone calls for ths woman, then eventually the man who kept ringing rang and said he was from a debt company and after checking everything out he was convinced that I was telling the truth and advised me to change my phone number. The problem was though ,by then I had had several problems getting cretit, whereas before I could get any amount as I had never had a problem paying my bills. It has taken us six years to get ourselves back to normal.0
