Terrific!!!! ;D ;D ;D Just saved £70 on a laptop plus got a printer thrown in after following Martin's excellent advice on haggling in store. Dixons price matched a laptop I found cheaper on the net and as I'd seen someone offering a free printer with this particular model I go that too. At this point I was then subjected to a barage of sales patter about buying extra warrenty (which was half the price again at £299!!!!). I refused, then coyly asked for discount, then refused again when they offered £50 off, let them just about finish processing my order then waded in with ''if you give me £70 of I'll take it'' and lo and behold if we didn't shake on it!!!! Needless to say I will be cancelling my warrenty Direct Debit in a couple of days as I have every right to do (the first payment doesn't come out for a couple of weeks) so all in all a job well done. £580 for laptop and printer and I'm well chuffed. So take his advice - shop around and haggle like crazy!!! Cheers Martin you're a star. I've bought your book for me, my mate and my dad (naturally in the 3 for 2 sale at bol.com....) Big kissesXXX

Well I think you'll all have a job beating the latest turn of events. Having succesfully haggled a £50 antivirus package for £25 out of the lovely Dixons branch, a pair of £20 headphones for a tenner and my boss claiming the VAT back on it all for me (plus also the VAT back on two of those leather Viking chairs also mentioned on this site which I got for me and my friend) My boss has turned round today and offered to pay for the whole of the laptop! Bless the lovely man!!!! Sorry guys - the height of jamminess I know but dem's de breaks.(and I did make him alot of money this month. Ah well I'm off to be all smug now...can't stop grinning! Thanks again for the best site in the entire world Martin! ;D

I have five stars! This doesn't mean that I know anything about any of the things I post. I could be a raving lunatic, or a brilliant genius, or just some guy on the internet. In fact, I could be all three at the same time.

If anything I say makes sense, then do it. If not, don't. Don't blame me or my stars if you do something stupid because I suggested it. I'm responsible for my own stupidity only. You are responsible for yours.

Why, I don't even have five stars anymore! Aren't you glad you aren't responsible for my stupidity?

Yes, and look how long it took me to get here, I ran all night and most of the next day. When I arrived I was really tired and Martin was nowhere to be seen so I ran all the way back again ;D
