Dialaphone - Refused contract, but number still setup!

Hi All

Need a bit of a vent, and gratefully take any advice.

My wife applied for a phone tmobile contract through dialaphones website, a day later they called and said they needed proof of address. As we hadn't been at our current address for very long. This was sent, but the application was refused.

My wife currently has a tmobile contract, and during the application process for dialaphone, it asked for her mobile number. A few days later she got a text on her mobile from T-mobile saying 'thankyou for adding a new line, this is now active'.

Looking at her tmobile account, Dialaphone have setup a new contract with a new number etc! But never got any phone, on dialaphones site, it says order cancelled, the account is even being used.

We have got tmobile to suspend the account, and have spoken to dialaphone a couple of times who try to fob us off with 'it's tmobile's responsibility'. That wouldn't happen, we didn't do a credit check, (they must have, to refuse it in the 1st place) and generally not believe us.

To top it all off, my wife has now got a bill for the other line. So we have proof that it's been setup in her name.

We think what has happened is while waiting for us to send proof of address, they assigned a line, but when it was refused, didn't unassign it and sent it out to someone else.

We are now waiting for a call later today from a 'commisioner' (?? ) (wasn't he someone from Batman!)

You have 14 day cancelation period with this I think, even though they say it isnt set up?
  • so have you been charged for calls or just the line rental?
