Hi Guys
Got a few probs that i need to get off my chests and this seems the best place for it
Well first off i have a possible health issue, that i need to clarify with the hospital. I have an appointement with them on the 3rd of August for a test and if the test comes back and shows something is wrong (not sure how long the results will take to come back) that could have far reaching implications for myself.
This is causing me ,ajor worrying at the moment as every min i spend alone im thinking aobut what th test will show, so ive been going out with people after work for drinks and trying not to spend too much time by myself. this has caused me now to go £160 into myoverdraft.
Its annoying becasue i over the last few months i have got myself straight thanks to this site and now i have this health worry hanging over my head its makingme go out and waste all the hard work i have made.
Sorry for sounding off but im just so worried in what these tests will show and my ability to control my money at the moment is going out the window because off it................

Aw...honey,
[[[Hugs]] If you need a pal to talk to here I am.....I know the worry of waiting for test results...I had to wait 5 weeks for results of an MRI scan following a serious assault last September....It's very stressful and worrying about money doesn't help.
What you need to do is talk to someone, not go out spending money if you can help it....
If you need some support...PM me and we can exchange numbers...Ember x~What you send out comes back to thee thricefold!~~0 -
Thanks ember have PM'd you xSavings Total so far for 2023: £8,062.580

The will to be healthy and a positive outlook is as good as the most powerful treatment that they could give you. Tests can lead to more tests and their results can be ambiguous and open to interpretation. Doctors have proved the placebo effect so give yourself a dose of optimism.
My mum was given weeks to live due to out of control blood pressure. My dad was a query leukeamia case. Both are doing very well. My mum, who is now retired, has become a physical fitness nutcase from being a dog tired NHS nurse. Learn how to relax for your appointment. Perhaps check out the waiting room or the parking beforehand. Many recipients of test get whitecoat syndrome and send their blood pressure and hormones all over the place.

Hey James240,
Sorry to hear of your tough time, try and be positive if you can. It's good that you're keeping busy and taking your mind off things - your health and happiness have to come first. You may have gone into your overdraft, but don't dwell on it - you can pull it back and this is a time when you could do without the worry. Make a pact with yourself that you'll pull out all the stops to stop the debt building any further, and in return let yourself off the hook for what has happened so far and put it behind you.
Good luck and keep posting we're all behind you xxQuit smoking 18/08/070 -

((James)),
Just to echo what others have said, please try to keep positive I know it's hard, often the stage of not knowing is worse than getting an actual diagnosis. Twice my Mum (who is on her own) has had breast cancer scares and both times going for tests and waiting for results have been hell, you feel like you're trying to mentally prepare yourself for accepting the worst news, when often it doesn't even come to that.
The suggestions of trying to do more sport is a good one, try to really throw yourself into working out so that it takes your mind off things and it will give you a natural 'high' afterwards to help you see things more positively.
Think of other things that can occupy yourself and take your mind off things but don't cost too much- go for walks to parks to enjoy the nature and peace, play some music you like really loud (maybe on headphones!), watch your favourite comedy on DVD or a funny movie.
Also this doesn't help everyone but it does me, try to write your feelings down on paper, you may get a bit emotional at the time but afterwards you may feel a sense of release at getting feelings out that maybe you can't talk to with anyone else.
Also please feel free to PM me, I had an operation this week and am stuck at home recovering bored out of my mind so any contact from people is very welcome!
Take care,
