Cool - reason I asked is if it were a high performance one, you'd have to try a specialist place and I don't know them very well!

I used to get great quotes from Endsleigh, Tesco and Direct Line (who I'm with at the minute).... Give them a try - I'm not a lot older than you and have been through the same grief...

Also, have you looked at going through Quidco? That could give you around £100 back on your insurance!
• Cool Thanks I will have a look

Ive just been through the comparison sites in the article and found my best quote through Tesco Compare, the best quote throughout all the sites was the same insurer but about £40 cheaper! I highly recommend checking them all.

Many young drivers struggle to find cheap car insurance and may not know that many car insurers are now prepared to reduce their premiums if they have undergone the PASS PLUS training scheme. This is specially designed course by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA), which with the help of insurers and the driving instruction industry helps novices: sumbul1d.gifgain valuable driving experience safely- you are taught how to deal with a wide range of road and traffic situations, many of which you probably won't have faced before sumbul1d.gifbuild on existing skills and knowledge sumbul1d.gifreduce the risk of being in a road crash sumbul1d.gifsave money on car insurance premiums sumbul1d.gifboost confidence if you feel nervous driving on your own. PASS PLUS consists of six practical modules which cover driving in town, in all weathers, on rural roads, at night, on dual carriageways and on motorways. You can take it at any time within the first 12 month of passing your test.
There is no test at the end of it – your driving will be continually assessed and you must successfully complete all the modules in the course to reach an achieved or exceeded standard:

More information about PASS PLUS available on: http://www.passplus.org.uk/about_pp.asp which lists the insurers who participate in the Scheme. Some Councils sponsor these courses and may offer financial support to reduce the cost. It's worth enquiring.
