Kazd in your case you will need to complete a form P46 to indicate this is your only or main income and sign the declaration. your employer will then operate the appropriate coding and send the form to HMRC who will asses your circumstances and issue a revised coding to the employer, if needed.

You mentioned that your starting at the end of March but im assuming here that your first payment will be after 6th April, if so your coding should be 543L

yeah my first pay was for more than 4 weeks, im on £5.61 an hour (for now til i finsh my accountancy course!!!) 16 hours a week
