£98 car insurance renewal

Hi

I've just insured my car for £98 with the Post office, fully comp. Is this a record or has anyone else found anything cheaper?

Pretty good price but difficult to guage without knowing the type of car and your occupation. Age is also a rating factor of course.
If you were retired / housewife with full ncd driving a group 1 car it is probably about right.

As Matty says too many variables to compare one persons insurance with another, however for comparison, I got mine for £75 protected NCB, FC, 50 y/o male electrician, factory based, + spouse, Rover 75 2L, parked on the street, £200 excess, also came with full Green flag breakdown cover. Premium was £205 but got £130 back from quidco, so sub £100 policies are there if one fits the criteria.
  • Hi folks

I'm a nurse, working in a hospital aged 46 so maybe it sounds about right. £74 is even better though! I drive a peugeot 106 that's 13 years old.

I've had higher quotes but paid less due to quidco cashbak.
e.g. my last quote was £153.50 but I got £120 cashback so paid £33.50.
    I don't think that's even a record.

Basically all the factors - car type, age, area, cover, mileage, lack of accidents, lack of convictions, gender etc.- all work in my favour.
Some of those things we have control over, some we don't.
